Green Chutney For Sandwiches/ Mint Sauce For Sandwiches

Green spicy chutney or masala recipe mainly used for spread in sandwich recipes. It is also commonly known as Bombay Sandwich Chutney Recipe and is mainly prepared by combining mint and coriander leaves with chaat masala. Usually street food vendors in Mumbai prepare this spicy chutney recipe for Bombay sandwich recipe. However these days the chutney recipe has been commercialized and is available in many retail stores as packaged spices. Apart from this it is a multipurpose chutney and can be used to dip various snacks.

I have already shared the street side special sandwich ie Bombay sandwich recipe and grilled. In both recipes, I have used sandwich masala powder with green chutney as a spread. But this chutney recipe is a combination of both and can be directly used to prepare a Bombay Sandwich recipe without any other masala powder. Also this chutney can be used for any other form of sandwich recipe. Best part of the sandwich chutney recipe is its shelf life and can be kept in the fridge for a minimum of 3-4 months. I deep freeze the sauce by converting it into ice cubesI do it and store it in the freezer and it lasts for more than 6-8 months. 1 cube of frozen green chutney may be more than enough to prepare 2-3 sandwiches at a time.

First, in this recipe I have used peanuts as a thickening agent with fresh coriander and mint leaves. Alternatively, you can use roasted Bengal gram dal or gram dal for this purpose. Secondly, I have used the same ratio or ½: 1 ratio of mint and coriander leaves in this recipe. But you can experiment in proportion according to your preference and preference. Finally, if you want a new green color for your sauce, you can also add fresh spinach leaves during the grounding. Adding the spinach leaves will increase the color of the sauce.
